- Understand what is required of service dog in the United States and how it differs from other types of working dogs

- Understanding the legalities and rights of service dog handlers

- Understand the importance and commitment of service dog training for both the dog and the handler

This course will be taught by:

Kendra Williams, Gluten Detection Service Dog Handler and Celiac Disease Advocate

Kari Bastyr, MS, CDBC, CPCN, Wag & Train

Kari is an Animal Behaviorist and Certified Canine Nutritionist. She is also a service dog handler and trainer for gluten-detection dogs. She is the founder of Wag & Train Dog Behaviorist & Nutrition.

Kari's credentials

Kendra is a gluten-detection dog handler. She trained her dog, Suki, through Willow Service Dogs under Dawn Scheu. As a blogger and social media content creator, Kendra discovered the hunger for more information regarding training service dogs, specifically gluten-detection dogs. Professionally, she designs education and training programs for corporations.

Because of the lack of information regarding training a service dog, and the expense of training, Kendra decided to partner with her good friend and fellow service dog handler, Kari Bastyr, to design a series of courses that will educate potential handlers on what they need to know prior to making the full commitment of training a service dog.
